Senior Product Line Manager
We have an immediate opportunity with a large F500 client in the Milpitas, CA area.
As a Sr. Product Line Manager for Pluggable transceiver products, this individual will drive new revenue and profitability in one of our highest growth product lines. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the transceiver space, with hand-on experience in the datacom, telecom and fiber-channel markets. We are looking for someone who really understands the market and is able to drive internal development to create new and differentiated products. Additional responsibilities will include working with engineering to set technology roadmaps, as well as business development for potential partnerships. The focus will be on market penetration, profitable revenue growth and sustainable leadership via an industry leading roadmap.
Responsibilities:
o Drive revenue growth
o Primary lead for product pricing
o Define new products
o Define and articulate a long term strategic roadmap and market strategy
o Manage design win activity (close cooperation with Eng, Sales, Ops)
o Analyze competition for product benchmarking
o End to end product life cycle management, including communication of PCNs and product transitions/discontinuances
o Manage product cost, work with Operations to set cost targets
o Track performance to plan
o Travel expectancy less than 20% (domestic and international)
Success Indicators:
o Understands P&L and business planning
o Solid cross functional knowledge in both R&D and Operations
o Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and lead individuals, ability to effectively achieve objectives within a matrix organization
o Experience interacting with all levels of management
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Strong computer and analytical skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
o Experience working in a global marketplace, selling to Tier 1 network equipment companies
o Demonstrated track record of growing revenue and customer design wins
o Business acumen
o Problem solving ability to answer technical questions and resolve issues at customer sites
Required Qualifications Required Qualifications
o Bachelor's in related fields such as Engineering, Business Admin, etc.
o Minimum 6
years of technical Product Line Management/Marketing experience Strong technical background in optical communication systems and/or components, and familiarity with SONET/SDH and Ethernet applications
Additional Qualifications
o Direct Product Line Management/Marketing experience in the Pluggable market space
o Working knowledge of the 10G/40G/100G Pluggable transceiver market, products and customers % Travel Required 1- 25 Percent
